Description:


Houston-based hospitality group seeks fine dining General Manager for new restaurant opening. Restaurant will house 170 seats and will serve an a la carte menu focusing of French cuisine. Restaurant will launch with dinner only service and will introduce Brunch service in near future. The General Manager is responsible for maintaining high standards of food, service, health, and safety, ensuring efficient and profitable business performance, and optimizing the utilization of staff and resources. This role requires a dynamic and adaptable individual who can maintain a courteous demeanor with guests while effectively managing downtime.


Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Set operating goals and objectives in collaboration with owners/partners to ensure the success of the establishment and prepare and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Co-ordinate restaurant operations with the management team and staff during each shift to ensure consistent, successful services and implement evergreen systems to maintain service standards and guest satisfaction.
  • Thoroughly understand and uphold staffing requirements and recruitment for the restaurant, including onboarding, training, and retention of employees.
  • Engage and grow guest relations, ensure guest satisfaction, and create unique and exceptional experiences for each guest.
  • Oversee training and coaching of staff, maintain accurate and up-to-date training documents and protocol.
  • Manage staff performance, conduct regular performance reviews, and ensure adherence to established codes of practice and company values.
  • Adhere to financial goals set by the company, analyze budget variances, and implement corrective actions.
  • Plan, monitor, and analyze restaurant sales and revenue, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards.
  • Identify and estimate food and beverage supply requirements, negotiate purchase prices, and develop preferred suppliers.
  • Arrange for maintenance and repairs of equipment and services, and promote growth in sales and operations steadily and consistently.


Qualifications / Competencies:


  • 5+ years of experience working in fine dining full service restaurant with at least 2 years of General Manager experience.
  • Proven guest relations experience as a senior manager.
  • Extensive food and beverage knowledge.
  • Professional maturity, high level of managing responsibility, and strong organizational skills.
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to manage P&L.
  • Ability to execute deadline-based tasks and projects.
  • New opening experience preferred
  • Must be able to work for any employer in the US (no visa sponsorship offered)
